Mission Investigations Group LLC serves Southeastern Idaho and Northern Utah. We are members of the Private Investigators Association of Idaho (PIAI). We are licensed, bonded, and insured in the states of Idaho and Utah. We are proud to be licensed in Utah where they require a very strict and high level of police and investigation experience.
In 2021 we helped change history in the State of Utah where out-of-state residents were unable to obtain a private investigator license despite being qualified. This state rule went against the US Constitution protecting the rights of Americans to engage in interstate commerce. Jeremy worked with the Institute for Justice to sue Utah, ultimately changing the rule to allow us to operate business in Utah.
R. Jeremy Barnes
Mission Investigations Group is founded and led by R. Jeremy Barnes, a retired police officer and detective. Jeremy’s background in law enforcement gives him the ability to view evidence and information with a unique perspective that provides invaluable insights to your case. He pursues interviews of witnesses and potential suspects with tactful communication and well-developed analytical skills.
His degree in Criminal Justice provides a sound background in legal knowledge to ensure investigations are conducted according to the law and can hold up in court, should an investigation go to trial. He is retained as the criminal investigator for the Public Defender’s Office in Logan, Utah.
His minor in Spanish is useful in assisting with translating witness statements, conducting interviews, and communicating with Hispanic/Latino investigations.
